Iran Is Willing to Help Resolve Ukrainian Crisis
Amirabdollahian discussed the most recent developments in ties between Tehran and Riyadh while praising Switzerland’s efforts as the guardian of Iran’s interests in Saudi Arabia.
According to the website of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, he stated that Iran is willing to arrange a meeting with the Saudi side on the date previously scheduled in order to reopen the embassies of the two nations.
The Iranian foreign minister discussed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s perspective about the importance of protecting the territorial integrity of nations, including Ukraine, and noted that Tehran opposes the continuance of the conflict. Thus, he continued, Iran is prepared to offer all help necessary to speedily end the conflict.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis greeted the Iranian government and people on Nowruz and the start of Ramadan. He emphasized that the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume diplomatic ties represents a turning point for peace and stability in the region.
